Femme Trek FAQS
1) Do I need hiking experience to hike with Femme Trek? Nope! No hiking experience required. Our clients have had a broad range of experience from absolute beginner to very experienced. The hike you book will depend on your fitness level and interest.
2) What gear do I need to hike with Femme Trek? You’ll need to bring a backpack and wear sturdy hiking boots. Some clients have used their computer bags and book bags which work surprisingly well. In the summer, trail runners with tread are acceptable, but in the winter for snowshoeing, sturdy waterproof hiking boots are required. We’ll send you an email several days before the hike with more information on what to bring the day of.
3) How many people can hike with Femme Trek at a time? It depends on the trail you choose. If we’re going to a lake, then the maximum group size is 12. For other hikes on established trails the maximum group size is 20.
4) What happens if the weather is bad? We’ll suggest an alternate hike and/or see if you’re available a different day. If neither of those will work, we’ll cancel the hike and issue a refund, minus a $25 administrative fee.
5) I’ve never been snowshoeing before. Will you teach me? Definitely! Most of our clients have never been snowshoeing. It’s so much fun! Femme Trek provides the necessary equipment like snowshoes and trekking poles and we’ll show you how to use it. If you’re experienced, we’ll still provide the equipment and off we go!
6) Is Rocky Mountain National Park worth visiting in the winter? Most definitely yes! The scenery is a different kind of amazing in the winter. Also, hotels in Estes Park are much less expensive than in the summer and there are fewer crowds.
