Each tour includes a professional female guide who is a certified Wilderness First Responder, and access to thoughtfully chosen, less-traveled routes in Rocky Mountain National Park away from the crowds at Bear Lake. These guided women’s hiking trips emphasize connection, nature immersion, safety, and fun.

Do I need experience for Femme Trek’s women’s hiking or snowshoeing tours?

No prior hiking or snowshoeing experience is required, but you must be moderately fit and unable to walk on uneven terrain for an extended period of time.

What gear do I need to bring on a hike with Femme Trek?

You’ll need to bring a backpack and wear sturdy hiking boots. In summer, trail runners with good tread are acceptable. For winter snowshoeing tours, waterproof hiking boots are required. We’ll send you a full gear checklist before your tour.

Are Femme Trek women’s hiking tours available year-round?

Yes, weather permitting. Spring, summer, and fall are most popular, but winter offers its own magic.

Femme Trek focuses on hiking tours in nature rather than city or sightseeing walks. That said, many women looking for walking tours in Colorado enjoy our slower-paced, scenic hikes through Rocky Mountain National Park which are designed to be accessible, empowering, and deeply connected to nature.

How do I get a timed-entry permit to Rocky Mountain National Park?

Timed-entry to RMNP is included in the commercial permit for Femme Trek. You do not need an additional timed-entry permit. However, you will still need to show an entrance pass to enter the park no matter what time we enter.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We’ll suggest an alternate hike or reschedule. If neither works, we’ll cancel the hike and issue a refund.

Do I need to be in great shape to participate?

You should be moderately fit and comfortable walking on uneven terrain for several hours at elevation.

Can beginners join Femme Trek hiking tours?

Yes, beginner hikers are welcome as long as they are moderately fit. The terrain if oftentimes rocky, even if the path is flat.

What if I have an injury or health concern?

Femme Trek tours explore trails in Rocky Mountain National Park, just outside Estes Park, Colorado and Grand Lake Colorado.

Are your routes in busy areas like Bear Lake?

We have some trails that start at the Bear Lake trailhead, our guided Rocky Mountain hiking tours focus on scenic, lesser-traveled trails where we leave the crowds behind.

Will we hike at high elevation?

Yes, our hikes range from 8,000 to 11,500 feet in elevation. We move at a comfortable pace and take breaks as needed.

Definitely. The winter scenery is stunning, Estes Park lodging is more affordable, and the park is far less crowded.

Yes! Our women’s snowshoeing tours in Colorado run from late fall through early spring, offering a peaceful way to explore the park in winter.

I’ve never been snowshoeing before. Will you teach me?

Absolutely! Most of our clients are first-timers. We provide snowshoes and trekking poles and show you how to use them. Experienced snowshoers are welcome too!
